On Feb 14, 1966, Australian converted from the Imperial system of currency to Dollars & Cents. There were quite a few novelty records released at the time to capitalise on the change-over. Two which spring to mind are "The Decimal Point" by Ian Turpie, which is already on YouTube, and, "The Decimal Currency Pub" by Slim Dusty, which I've also uploaded.
This little bit of fun by Frankie Davidson was released as a 45 on the Sunshine label, QK1250...it is a parody of Leroy Van Dyke's country classic "The Auctioneer".
It received some limited airplay, purely because of it's novelty value, but failed to chart in any significant population area of Australia.
